He said 61 police personnel were dismissed from service as part of disciplinary action during the Oommen Chandy government. The Pinarayi Vijayan government dismissed those police personnel who had been absent from service for a long time.
According to the National Crime Records Bureau, less than 50 police officers have been dismissed since CM Vijayan took office in 2016. “However, the chief minister told the House that 144 police officers were dismissed from service during LDF rule. This is a blatant lie,” he said.
He said if the chief minister failed to place the list of all 144 police personnel who he claims to have dismissed, he should withdraw his claim and apologize for misleading the house.
